Your vehicle’s antifreeze has multiple roles to fill.  It is circulated through the engine to transfer heat so that your engine does not overheat.  It won’t freeze (hence the name “antifreeze”) so you don’t need to worry about your engine block cracking much the way your garden hose may burst if water is left inside it during the cold winter months.  Another major role your antifreeze plays is supplying heat for the cabin.  Over time, antifreeze breaks down chemically and it is no longer able to perform it’s duties efficiently.  Additionally, as it breaks down, it tends to clog passageways it travels through.  This can eventually end up leaving you on the side of the road, or on the payment side of some expensive, unnecessary repair bills!
